Texas Brethren of the Allied Masonic Degrees:
This letter is a follow-up regarding the activities surrounding Texas AMD Day on June 4.
First, the flyer for pre-registration, which includes the schedule, should be available on the TAMDA Web site this week (www.tamda.org).
Second, because of conflicts with the annual assembly of the United Grand Imperial Council, Red Cross of Constantine, in Buffalo, New York, the Masonic Order of the Bath will not be conferred at Texas AMD Day this year.
Third, Anson Jones Council No. 462 will confer the Installed Sovereign Master degree. All sitting Sovereign Masters are required to take this degree, according to Grand Council, and TAMDA offers this courtesy conferral for all Texas Sovereign Masters and Past Sovereign Masters who have not received it.
Fourth, Grand Arcanum Council No. 447 will confer the rank of Knight Commander, Royal Order of the Red Branch of Eri, on eligible brothers at AMD Day. RV Jerry Nelson Kirby, Superintendent for North Texas, will be the conferring officer. If you wish to receive this conferral you must present an RORBE membership card or certificate specifying the Knight Commander rank, issued by the Grand Council. If you do not yet have either a card or certificate, or if they have been misplaced, then it is vital that you have your council secretary verify with the TAMDA Secretary that your name has been appropriately submitted and the fee paid to Grand Council. This communication, by email or snail mail, should reach the TAMDA Secretary no later than May 15st. TAMDA has no way of knowing who is eligible to receive this rank, so without either an appropriate card or certificate or prior verification from your council secretary, no brother will be admitted to receive this conferral.
Finally, Grand Arcanum Council No. 447 will confer Grades 1-3 of The Royal Order of the Masonic Knights of the Scarlet Cord on Friday, June 3, at 8:30 pm in the lodge room of the Waco Scottish Rite. All current members of a constituent AMD council are eligible to take this degree. RV John Elkinton, Superintendent for South Texas, has graciously agreed to be present, as required by the Grand Council. The fee for the three degrees is $125.00, payable to Grand Council AMD of the USA. Grand Arcanum Council has agreed to receive and pass along the petitions and fees to Grand Council. If you wish a petition, please contact the TAMDA Secretary. Also, interested AMD members are welcome to join the degree team at Heitmiller Steakhouse, 4509 Interstate 35 Frontage Rd, Lacy Lakeview, TX 76705, prior to the OSC conferral. We will meet at 6:00 pm, have dinner at 6:30 pm, and travel to the Waco Scottish Rite after dinner. Each member is responsible for paying his own check. If you will be joining us at Heitmiller, please RSVP to the TAMDA Secretary via email by May 31 at rschlaudroff@gmail.com.
Again, the officers of the Texas Allied Masonic Degrees Association look forward to another successful AMD Day and we hope to see each of you in Waco.
Fraternal regards,
Richard E. Schlaudroff, Secretary
